Black tea is consumed primarily in India, Africa, Sri Lanka, Europe and North America. It is produced from the Camellia sinensis plant and undergoes several basic steps in order to create the dark leaf and amber to reddish liquor that is known as black tea: withering, rolling, fermenting and drying. The leaves are then sorted by quality and used to produce single-estate, seasonal and blended teas. Our selection of black teas ranges from hardy blends to more refined single-estates, to aromatic flavored teas. While purists prefer to consume tea without milk or sweetener, black teas do take these additions very well.
